Default Ouch!

$1299, thats too much, I just purchased a Sako Forster L579 Bofors steel, with a Leupold 3-9 with AOL, for $825 shipped.

Yes it is & it is one with the dovetailed receiver. That's the first dovetailed one I have seen, but I don't look to hard for them, so they do exist!!! It's way over priced too. $1429!!!!! He'll be lucky to get over a $1000, with the scope. Rather have a REAL Sako, but that's just my preference.

I agree it is over priced, but I have come to the conclusion that what is over priced today may be tomorrows good deal.

Default Here's one

This is my H&R 317 in 17-223, paid 900.00 for it with a Sako M8 6X. This is a dove tailed receiver, not sure when they went from round topped to dove tail. Maybe Kevin G will chime in, he's our resident expert on these Sako variants.

He got that big feasting on our garden lol. Shot him at 50 yds out the door of my gunshop as he was about to make another move on our tomatoe plants

Chuck by dovetail do you mean were you attach the scope mounts? If so mine is dovetailed also.

Thumbs up Chuck's pictured rifle........

.....is a very fine example of an original early H&R Model 317 Ultra Wildcat, with it's L461 dove-tailed receiver and 17-223 chambered barrel. Chuck used my favorite mounts/rings that I usually put on the field grade Model 317 rifle. Namely, the "old" Redfield bases with Leupold STD rings. Note that the Model 317 came from the factory with a 0.5" solid white-line, brown rubber, H&R labeled rifle pad. None were provided with sling-swivel studs.......any studs were added by others............many times, badly. So.......the one on GB is not "original". In keeping with the spirit of this thread......below is a pic of one of my Model 317P(presentation) rifles. It's also in 17-223. Kevin
