Default .223 Rem loads using IMR 4227 or Alliant 2400?

Does anyone here have experience with these two powders in the .223 Rem? I've seen both listed in reloading manuals in the past, and Alliant still lists loads using 2400 for 50 and 55 gr bullets on their website. How much of a .223 case is filled with 15 gr of 4227 or 2400, is it a bulky powder? I'd like to use a bulky powder so that there isn't any worry about powder position in the case when firing, and so that I can't accidentally double-charge without overflowing the case. Thanks.
