As to a break down tool/die.
I like the RCBS collet puller. You need a collet for each caliber you break down but they don't cost much. Re-use all the components. Pull the de-primer pin in your sizer die and leave the primer in the case if you know what it is and want to use it. Typically I just resize the neck.
I think the set-up works well and I've used mine for years. More frequently than I care to admit actually .
Having recommended that I have to admit the only other bullet puller I've used is an impact puller and I hated that! What a beast for pulling down a number of rounds .

+1 on what Montdoug said. I have the Hornady collet-style puller and it works great, is very fast to use, especially if you have a lot of rounds to do. The inertial style puller is a real PITA and slow for rifle bullets, but work okay for a few pistol rounds.

I have also used a wire stripper and grab the bullet on the ogive. You will have to figure out how much squeeze to use on the wire stripper and use a stripper that is flat on one side. The marks left behind doesn't seem to hurt when shooting pds

Ask him for some emptys fired in that rifle with that same load and that wil tell you all about the loaded rounds
or pull a couple resize them and load them up with reduced powder charge out of the emptied out charge if ok put a slightly bigger charge and work up to the full charge.use the powder out of the case not annother batch they will be different ok you might lose 10 or more rounds but still hav a lot to play with

Geez, Send the rifle and the reloads to me and I will shoot them and tell you if they are alright! I will also test manufactured ammo in it to see if it will hold up.

That's what I have and like it immensely.

Broke a few of the hammer type and will never go back.

Default Soneone Else's Reloads

Not unless my life depended on it and there was no place to run! I've seen too many stuffers who thought the max load was a good starting point. Some shotshell reloaders are even worse.

Wise choice IMO.
Playing devils advocate. Ya might try taking all the measurements off of those rounds and breaking a couple down and weighing charges etc. Later you could try to work back up to that load on your own and see if the guy you bought it from was on to something??
