Last Saturday's "Fun Match" for Varmint Rifle Shooters
Last Saturday, the Pine Tree hosted a “fun match” for hunting/varmint rifles, called the Rifleman’s Team Challenge. Teams of 3 shooters entered. The course of fire was 5 rounds fired from the standing position at 50 yards on a standard US smallbore 100 yard target followed by 5 rounds from the bench at a woodchuck target with a ~2” 10 ring in the body and a ~1” 15 ring on the head – hits outside the rings scored 5 points. Benchrest pedestals and rear bags were not permitted. No sighters or fouling shots. Shooters each had 15 minutes to complete the firing. Coaching was encouraged. Medals were presented to the top 3 team shooters. The young lady on our team posted the high individual score. “Shoot like a girl (if you can).”

Last Sturday's Fun Match for varmint rifle shooters
That sounds like a fun shoot. I bet the off hand shooting really weeded out the shooters and dropped the scores on hits. Often, I see, some, at the ranges, that just can not shoot offhand. Bill K
