Default Yawns contagious, make trigger finger itch too!

Made an interesting observation the other morning. Yawns are contagious with chucks too.

Couple non-yawners just to add to the trigger finger itch...

enough of a warning to keep your hands
away from those teeth!

Same with P/dogs. Blew one's pups all away then shot her
and went to collect the head and she lunged up almost two feet
at me with wide open mouth. Much like a house cats for looks.
Made a believer outta me right quick! That was with her blown
half in to.

Thanks fellas! Glad you enjoy them. I've got a whole bunch more, sometimes I worry about posting them "too much".

Default Awesome

No worries about posting too many pics. I am sure appreciative of the talent you have behind the camera. You seem to nail it. Do you use photoshop to edit your pics or are they in the raw format as taken.

You sure seem to have an uncanny ability to capture the moment in time, allowing the viewer to relive it through the lens of your camera.

Jim, I usually shoot in RAW. Which means, the pictures have to be developed/edited before they can be displayed. The RAW format can't actually be displayed until it's been converted into another format, like JPEG, that can be displayed. The conversion process requires decisions to be made about things like white balance, clipping levels for whites and blacks, saturation levels, etc.

So, normally, if I'm shooting RAW as usual, there is no choice but to do some work developing the pictures for conversion to .jpg so I can post them etc. I typically do all this in a program called Lightroom.

Now, these 'chuck pics posted above, they are not the norm for me, as I accidentally shot them in JPEG! The smallest/lowest quality JPEG setting on my camera, in fact. I was seriously bummed out about that when I found out later.

What it means in practical terms, is that my camera made all the decisions on developing these photos, with no input from me, and that the best copies I have are pretty low resolution - I'd never be able to do a large print of these, for instance.

Anyway... Long winded, I know, but there is a lot of misunderstanding out there about what "editing" a photo really means. If you shoot in RAW, as I usually do, there's no choice - the photo must be edited before anything else can be done with it. If you shoot in JPEG, as I accidentally did with these, you could still do some editing on them if you wanted to, but all the most important edits have already been made, by the camera - taking away the bulk of creative input the photographer might wish to execute.

Short-short version, these are basically SOOC (straight out of camera). But only by accident.
