Default 20 BR neck length

Just working on my 20BR brass after the first firing. I sent the reamer back to get it ground to .229 neck, it was .235 and my loaded brass ended up at .226 to .227. About trimming.......... I am thinking I really need to set the neck length from the shoulder and not the OAL of the brass. The neck length into the chamber is really set from the shoulder and not from the case head. Anyone ever think about this? I am thinking a trim die where the case seats in it on the shoulder and then trim the neck to length. Brass OAL and neck length are really two different things. Larry
