Went to range today with 17M4 and new loads...

I tried out several new loads. I was shooting H-335 with 19g and starke 30g HP and I shot several groups of less than .250 three shot groups. I also tried some Bluedot loads - I tried 11.6g of Bluedot with Hornady 20g Vmax's and it shot three bullets that pretty much cut a jagged hole in the 1's I wish I had a way to post this group because it was awesome. I tried a 16g Bluedot load, but it is too hot and bigtime signs of pressure so I came home and pulled those bullets and dumped the powder for safety. I believe the 11.6g Bluedot is the max that should be tried, so use good common sense and work these loads up carefully. I also shot some H-4227 loads with 12g of H-4227 and Starke 25g HP bullets that shot .375 three shot groups. The H-4227 and Bluedot loads had about the same noise level which was quieter than my standard H-335 19g load is. Thanks - redfeather.

Wow great groups, did you happen to have a chronograph?I would love to know what your velocity was on some of those loads.

Barry I don't own a chrony, so I do not know the speed on any of these loads. Thanks - redfeather.

so I built an 84" long Balistic pendulum. Might not let you tell plus or minus 10 fps SD. but it can definately ballpark a load to with in 25 to 50 fps. Of course there is a bit more math involved in it. But it's not very complex math. The set up in not extremely complex either. If you have a load of known velocity and bullet weight a set up to give velocities relitive to that load is even easier.
