Dick Saunders developed this cartridge and it is based on the .32 H&R mag. I have talked to him about it and he compares it to the .17 Hornet as far as performance goes. He prefers it over the hornet because it has better case life. He doesn't like the thin hornet cases and feels that you can't extract the potential from the cartridge without ruining cases. I imagine that the biggest problem with the flickertail would be case forming, die availability, and finding a gunsmith that will chamber for it. Not sure if Bullberry has the reamer for it or not.

Let us know if you decide to go that route. I have seen the brass advertised recently so I know that it is available. Also if you are interested, Dick wrote a good article about a flickertail that he made using the Remington 581 action that was converted to centerfire. It was in Small Caliber News about a year ago.
