I am new to the .17 world and am waiting for delivery of a Bullberry .17 M4 for my Contender. I have already formed my brass but would like to get some load data for both fire forming and then accuracy.
I already have some Hornady 20gr V-max and 25 gr HP that I have moly coated. Any info on powders and charges to use would be great. The barrel will be 17" long. And suggested OAL would be of help as well. Thanks for any help! |

I can't give you exact loads without my notes and resources in front of me but can tell you what powders are considered the best for this case. They are H4198, n133, H322. I have had pretty good success with the H4198 and the n133 in one and have not yet tried H322 (that I can remember). There is a fair amount of load data out there for the Mach IV and you should be able to get it readily. Check out my Load Resources article for manuals that will have load data on the Mach IV. There is some load data on the web also. You could also order the Sensational Seventeens Manual from the woodchuck den or get Small Caliber News. I'll check my notes and post some more load details when I get a chance. Others may be able to help also. |
