I am planning on a lot of fox hunting this season . My rig is an encore with a 22" 17 mach IV bull berry barrel that should be here any day. I was wondering if any of you have any suggestions or preferences? pet load ? Thanks |

drifter I shoot two powders IMR 4198/H4198 and H335, and I use 25g Berger match and 25g Starke match for fox and coyote. You will need to check your loading manuals for the correct starting powder charges and work up slowly because each barrel is a little different and has a life of its own. Thanks - redfeather. |

For foxes, the 25 grain Starke has worked great for me. I haven't had an exit yet. I did have an exit on a ground hog the other day that really surprised me but haven't on a fox yet. Haven't shot a pile of em' yet either. I agree on the H4198, as that is what has given me the best velocity/accuracy so far in the one Mach IV that I have loaded for. That Starke has got an awefully big hollow point on it. |
